Steps

  1. 1On a Business workspace, only an admin or owner can add a custom MCP server. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin decides who can.
  2. 2On ChatGPT Pro, OpenAI may allow only read and fetch tools for custom connectors. If so, you can look up Hover data there but cannot make changes.
  3. 3Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button, then choose Add custom MCP server, and paste https://mcp.hover.ninja/mcp. On a workspace that still uses the older Apps setup, an admin adds it from Workspace settings, then Apps, then Create.
  4. 4Set up sign-in, check I understand and want to continue, then choose Create as a plugin.

What works

ChatGPT can look up your Hover data and, on Business, Enterprise, and Edu, make changes you approve.

What to expect with approvals

When you ask for a change in Hover, such as creating a job, ChatGPT gives you an approval link first. Open the link yourself, check the details, then choose Approve. If something looks wrong, choose Deny and nothing changes.

If you use ChatGPT Pro, you may not see approval links, since OpenAI limits Pro to looking up data in custom connectors.

About signing in

Approval links only work in a browser where you are signed in to Hover. If you open one on your phone, in a different browser, or in an agent's cloud browser, Hover may ask you to sign in again. That is expected.
